satan – A Defeated Enemy

satan  The devil, satan, is as real as you are here today. In fact, denying satan’s existence is a denial of the Word of God which means denying Jesus, which means denying Salvation. The Bible clearly teaches us that we are not to be ignorant of the devil and his devices (2 Corinthians 2:11; 11:3).  Who Is satan?

  • he is not is not omnipresent as God is – Job 1:7
    • he’s been around so he’s well traveled (don’t try to beat him with his own tricks)
    • he relies upon his satanic system
  • he is not infinite as God is – Revelation 1:8
    • God is the I Am that I Am, satan is the I want to be
  • though powerful, he is ameager and confined being under God’s sovereignty – 1 Chronicles 29:10-12

 he is a Spirit Being

 he is limited and defeated

  • it was God that allowed satan to go but so far with Job – Job 1: 12
  • he can not be in multiple places at one time; but his subordinates can represent him – Mark 5:2-9
    • he is the prince of the power of the air (the prince of this world) – Ephesians 2:2
    • the Jews held that the atmosphere was the abode of evil angels (See Matthew Henry)
  • he does make personal appearances
    • Job 1:6: When sons of God came to present themselves to the Lord.
    • Matthew 4:10: The temptation of Christ
      • Christ handled him with “I Said” (It is written)
    • Luke 22:3: Entered into Judas
  • his final defeat is assured
