Scripture Passage: James 1:19 KJV  Wherefore, my beloved brethren, let every man be swift to hear, slow to speak, slow to wrath:

Certain actions or words easily offend us. It is like a knee jerk reaction if we see or hear certain things. We end up saying things like we can’t help our reaction or that’s just the way we are. We get irritated and may even respond in a negative manner towards the person even if we know they don’t mean any harm by their action or words.

Why are we so offended? Offense is just a distraction to keep our minds off the things of God. We should look at the offense as an area that we may need to immediately begin praying for ourselves so that God reveals to us the root cause of our reaction.

We cannot focus on Kingdom work if we are distracted by earthly nuisances. If we are not careful, we can miss precious time with those that need our witness, not our distance.
