Scripture Passage: Matthew 16:24 KJV  Then said Jesus unto his disciples, if any man will come after me, let him deny himself, and take up his cross, and follow me.

Remember a time when you really wanted a materialistic item. You may have even contemplated using some of your bill money or money set aside for something else in order to get it. Even worse, you purchase it with a credit card that plunges you further into debt and increases the chances of that cycle being repeated. All because you would not wait until you could actually afford the item.

I did not say could not wait, because you could, you just wouldn’t.

In order to  fully follow Christ, you have to be willing to deny your flesh some of the things it desires. Our flesh have to be brought into subjection daily and if we are not careful, it could dominate our existence. We were placed in earthen vessels to operate in the Earth realm so that we could bring glory to God. If that desire you so desperately want does not honor God—deny yourself. Realize that your life is greater than you and you can have a far greater impact if you practice self discipline and deny your flesh.
