Scripture Passage: Acts 12:5 KJV Peter therefore was kept in prison: but prayer was made without ceasing of the church unto God for him.
Isn’t it amazing to think that while you can get more than 75,000 people to gather in a stadium to support an athletic team, it can be difficult to get a tenth of that same community to come together in prayer away from the game? If we are to see things from a Kingdom perspective, we must begin to come together in prayer.
The early church faced persecutions and trials on a scale few of us can appreciate. Yet, when faced with these challenges, they would come together as a community in prayer, seeking the Will of God in their circumstances and devoting themselves to their common faith. Even as Peter was locked up, the church continued to pray. Upon his release, Peter met the community of believers as they were still praying for him.
If we are going to navigate the challenges we all will face, we must become and remain a community of praying believers.
