Scripture Reference: 2Sa 5:17 KJV  But when the Philistines heard that they had anointed David king over Israel, all the Philistines came up to seek David; and David heard of it, and went down to the hold.

If you thought that your elevation will be welcomed by everyone, you may want to rethink things.  The truth is that elevation comes with some not so obvious costs that can cause you to forget that you are on the rise.

Words like increase, elevation, promotion and upgrade sound great.  They cause us to conjur up images of finally getting ahead in life, ending our struggles and being able to enjoy years of sacrifice.  But what we don’t realize is that when God elevates us, we become a larger target for the enemy. And since he didn’t stop you when you were hidden in obscurity and struggling, he will make do his best to interupt things in your life now that you are on the rise.

Just as you prayed, studied and worked to prepare for the time of your elevation, make sure you are also prepared for the threats, criticism, jealously and arrows that will come when you begin to rise.
