Scripture Reference: Deu 8:17-18 KJV  And thou say in thine heart, My power and the might of mine hand hath gotten me this wealth.  (18) But thou shalt remember the LORD thy God: for it is he that giveth thee power to get wealth, that he may establish his covenant which he sware unto thy fathers, as it is this day.

It is amazing how quickly we can forget how we got where we are.  When things are not going well, we so easily call on the Lord to help us and deliver us from our circumstances.  Yet, once things level out and we begin to increase, our praise and appreciation of God can decline. This, however, is when we should draw ever closer to God for instruction and guidance.

If you are not careful, you will begin to fool yourself into thinking that you alone are the reason for your increase.  When we minimize God’s Hand in our increase, we open the door to among many things self-worship, self-dependence and willful neglect of the grace of God.

Do not fall for the trap of putting self in front of God.  Outside of God, you would not be where you are today. He has enabled you to increase so that you can make a larger impact on the world for Him.
