Proverbs 22:6 KJV  Train up a child in the way he should go: and when he is old, he will not depart from it.

You wake up to your alarm blaring. You are frustrated as you roll over to turn it off because you forgot to turn it off last night. Today is Sunday, your rest day and you are now mad that the alarm went off. You can’t go back to sleep and a few minutes later, your seven year old comes in and ask, “Are we going to church?” You groan and reply, “Not today sweetheart, we’ll go another time.” Your child turns away disappointed and you try to go back to sleep.

Some of us take our children to church regularly, some of us send our children to church with someone else, some of us only take our children to church occasionally and some of us have not introduced our children to God, much less church. If parents and adult role models do not tell their children about the love of God and salvation, the world may mold their image of love, integrity, salvation, and God. We have to take a stand and resolve to teach our children  the Word of God.

That alarm that goes off and annoys you may be symbolic of the alarm that is going off for you to give your children the opportunity to develop their faith while you still have greater influence over their lives.
