Pro 6:6-11 KJV Go to the ant, thou sluggard; consider her ways, and be wise: (7) Which having no guide, overseer, or ruler, (8) Provideth her meat in the summer, and gathereth her food in the harvest. (9) How long wilt thou sleep, O sluggard? when wilt thou arise out of thy sleep? (10) Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep: (11) So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth, and thy want as an armed man.
How many times have you been renewed, revived, encouraged and empowered to move forward with what the Lord has called you to do only for it to remain undone a few weeks later? This often happens when we base our actions on emotions rather than genuine faith.
Rather than moving forward we make excuses for our inaction and may even try to spiritualize them. We say things like “the enemy is hindering me” or “the devil is trying to distract me.” In actuality, the hindrance may just be you and your lack of effort. You see, walking in your purpose requires work on your part. Yes, you have to work.
Learn from the ant, who goes about his business, who doesn’t require 10 mentors, 12 counseling sessions, and 25 people to validate his plans. The ant simply handles his business. If you are going to walk in what God intended for your life, you are gonna have to stop making excuses for being slothful. Get moving – No More Excuses!
