1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord.
If there is one thing that we as believers do not need to do, it is quitting on our efforts to reach others for Christ. Think of how many people out there that are lost and hell-bound. Imagine the anguish of family members knowing that although their loved ones were “good people”, they did not know Jesus as Lord and Savior. No one should have to endure such pain and hopelessness.
A key reason many are left without Christ is because we become frustrated and stop reaching out to the lost. Many of us expect immediate changes in others while we are still evolving ourselves after being saved for many years. Our job is to stay with it and do our part in reaching the lost for Christ.
In 1 Corinthians 3:6, Paul speaks of the importance of realizing that conversion and spiritual growth does not occur simply because we shared the Word of God with others once. Some of us plant seeds in others that require watering by others but God gives the increase. If you don’t plant the seeds God has told you to plant, then what will others water?
Our ultimate reward for doing God’s work will be realized in eternity. If you and I stay with it now, we will be blessed to share eternity with those God used us to witness to.
