Luke 6:38 KJV Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.
The more we get, the more we want. We live in a society where we never seem to have enough. We find excuses not to part with some of our possessions or money when charitable opportunities come along. We hoard because “It’s mine”, “I worked for it”, or we feel that, others can get their own. In a word, as we are blessed, some of us become selfish.
Sharing our materialistic possessions is not the only area we can exhibit selfish tendencies. Spiritually, we share even less. Maybe we’re embarrassed, think others will judge us or we feel they should know about God. How can anyone know that God delivered you from your oppression, opened doors for you or healed you unless you share it. People need to know that what God did for you, He can do for them because God is not a respecter of persons. He does not look at your possessions, He looks at your heart.
Share your heart, give of yourself—You can’t outgive God.
