Week 12: Where’s Your Heart? – March 25 – 31

Luke 12:34 KJV  For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

By the time I sought the Lord about whether or not to marry the beautiful young lady that is now my wife, I had already done my own evaluation.  Based upon my personal goals and vision for a family and future, there were certain characteristics I desired in a wife.  She quickly checked off all of those boxes.  Yet, I knew that there was another criteria that only God could help me with.  I needed to know that I have moved beyond mere attraction to genuine Godly love that manifests from what’s in my heart.  The real question was, where’s my heart?

When it comes to giving, where is your heart?  Are you doing so merely because you know it is a good thing to do or is your heart in your giving?  Just as no one should want to be married to someone  who does not have them in their heart, your giving should always emanate from a heart that loves God and loves giving.

What matters most to you will show in where you place your treasures.  Will you give sacrificially to honor God or does your heart tell you to keep them for yourself?  Where is your heart?
