2 Timothy 1:7 KJV
“For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.”
One of the main reasons that Christians do not share their faith with others is fear. We are so afraid that we may be asked a question we can not answer, that someone may challenge us on a scripture we can not expound upon or that we may even be confronted with our past or present mistakes. As a result, we talk about God around each other but many rarely share the message of salvation through Jesus Christ with others.
My question to you this week is simple: What are you afraid of? Once you have an honest conversation with yourself and God, you will be able to answer this question. Whatever your fear is, you must confess it to the Lord and ask Him to strengthen you. That fear did not come from the Lord. It was designed by the devil to prevent you from operating in faith.
Do not allow fear to keep you from the power that God has made available for you to be a witness for Him. When you sense fear rising in you, confess what Paul told Timothy in 2 Timothy 1:7 and make it personal:
God has not given (Your Name) a spirit of fear, but He has given (Your Name) a spirit of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.
